Baseball Recap: McAuley Catholic Comes Up Short

McAuley Catholic made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Greenfield, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Warriors fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 15-13 on Friday. The Warriors just can't catch a break and have now endured seven defeats in a row.

Maxwell Anreder was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with six stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Brek Sickman was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

McAuley Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Greenfield, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McAuley Catholic will square off against Sarcoxie at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Greenfield, they will take on New Heights Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
