Volleyball Recap: International Comes Up Short

International came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the North Putnam Cougars. The Gryphons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

The 3-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by exactly two points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 26-24, 25-23.

International's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for North Putnam, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. International is set to square off against their familiar foe Beech Grove at 6:00 p.m. on the 9th. Meanwhile, North Putnam will face off against rival Mooresville at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
