Plumstead Christian will be up against a hot Dock Mennonite squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Dock Mennonite's pitchers stepped up to hand Renaissance Academy a 10-0 shutout on Monday. Considering the Pioneers have won three games by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Jasiah Stachelek and Drew Bradica were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Stachelek pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Bradica pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. At bat, Stachelek went 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Bradica scored a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Jackson Korne was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Brayden Kratz, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Dock Mennonite was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Plumstead Christian made easy work of Collegium Charter on Monday and carried off a 10-0 victory. The win continues a trend for Plumstead Christian in their matchups with Collegium Charter: they've now won eight in a row.
Like Dock Mennonite, Plumstead Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Declan Glass. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Glass was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Santi Torres, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Michael Dear was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Dock Mennonite's record is now 3-1. As for Plumstead Christian, their record is now 3-0.
Dock Mennonite couldn't quite get it done against Plumstead Christian in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 9-5. Can Dock Mennonite avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
