Baseball Recap: Caprock Takes a Loss

Caprock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 22-1 to the Lubbock Westerners. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Westerners this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-2 last Tuesday.

Caprock saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trae Sauceda, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. The dominant performance gave Sauceda a new career-high in hits.

Caprock's loss dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Lubbock, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 11-5-1.

Coincidentally, Caprock and Lubbock will both be playing Tascosa the next time they take the field. Caprock will host Tascosa at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Lubbock will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
