Basketball Recap: Newton Local Takes a Loss

If Newton Local was feeling good fresh off their 54-22 takedown of National Trail last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Newton Local Indians took a 55-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Troy Christian Eagles on Tuesday. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Newton Local's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Troy Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-12.

Newton Local wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 55-49 defeat against Cedarville on the 15th. As for Troy Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 41-38 win against Botkins on the 15th.
