Volleyball Recap: Pattonville Pirates vs. Westminster Christian Wildcats
After flying high against Ritenour last Tuesday, Pattonville came back down to earth. The Pattonville Pirates lost 3-0 to the Westminster Christian Wildcats on Friday. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September.
While Pattonville had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-19, 25-21.
Reagan Nelson paced Pattonville's offense, picking up 24 kills. Nelson got some help from
Madison Dunn and her 17 assists.
Leading Westminster Christian to victory were Rachel Buchanan and Vivian Sharlow. Buchanan had 12 digs, while Sharlow had four digs and two aces.
Pattonville's defeat dropped their record down to 22-10. As for Westminster Christian, the victory was the 16th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 28-5-2.
Pattonville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Westminster Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Incarnate Word Academy on the 29th.
