Volleyball Game Preview: Timpview Thunderbirds vs. Payson Lions

The Timpview Thunderbirds will face off against the Payson Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Timpview came up short against Salem Hills and fell 3-1.

The final score came out to 25-21, 15-25, 25-13, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Payson hadn't done well against Spanish Fork recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Lions had just enough and edged out the Dons 3-2.

Payson wouldn't go down easily and took Spanish Fork into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-19, 21-25, 18-25, 15-11.

Payson has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season. As for Timpview, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.

Timpview took their victory against Payson when the teams last played back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Thunderbirds repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
