Volleyball Recap: Flowing Wells Takes a Loss

Flowing Wells lost against Catalina Foothills last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Caballeros lost 3-0 to the Falcons.

While Flowing Wells was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Catalina Foothills' winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-17, 25-19.

Daniel Coronado paced Flowing Wells' offense, picking up seven kills. Coronado got some help from Chris Anaya-Ashe and his 13 assists. Finally, O'Shay Walker kept Flowing Wells' defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Flowing Wells' defeat dropped their record down to 14-14. As for Catalina Foothills, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 20-10.

Looking ahead, Flowing Wells will challenge Pueblo at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Caballeros are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Catalina Foothills, they have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Canyon del Oro on the 18th.
