Softball Recap: Grants Pass Comes Up Short

If Grants Pass was riding high fresh off their 12-0 takedown of South Medford last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cavemen came up short against the West Salem Titans on Friday, falling 13-5. The loss continues a trend for the Cavemen in their meetings with the Titans: they've now lost three in a row.

Grants Pass saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Haley Jantzer, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Another was Audrie Sanchez, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Grants Pass' defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for West Salem, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-2.

Grants Pass and West Salem should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Oregon Rankings. The Cavemen (ranked 26th) will meet Sheldon (ranked 86th) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, West Salem will face off against West Albany at 5:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (8 vs. 54).
