Softball Game Preview: Middletown Mustangs vs. Fort Bragg Timberwolves

Middletown is 2-8 against Fort Bragg since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Mustangs will square off against the Timberwolves at 4:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Middletown came up short against Lower Lake and fell 9-5.

Meanwhile, Fort Bragg came up short against Clear Lake on Wednesday, falling 19-5.

Vianney Maravilla made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Hazel McNulty, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Fort Bragg's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Middletown, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

Middletown came out on top in a nail-biter against Fort Bragg in their previous matchup on April 13th, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
