Basketball Game Preview: La Plata Bulldogs vs. Meadville Eagles

The La Plata Bulldogs are taking a road trip to take on the Meadville Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. La Plata will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, La Plata strolled past Atlanta with points to spare, taking the game 49-35.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Meadville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 59-26 win over Bevier. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 22 points or more this season.

La Plata better keep an eye on Kinlee Fletcher. She was instrumental in Meadville's win, almost dropping a triple-double on 17 points, nine assists, and nine steals. Fletcher's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lexi Kiel, who posted 17 points and six steals.

Meadville was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

La Plata is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for Meadville, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-5.

La Plata was taken down by Meadville 76-28 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can La Plata avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
