League recap: Christian Academy of Knoxville extends winning streak with victory over LaVergne

Christian Academy of Knoxville extended the longest winning streak in AA District 4 this week by beating LaVergne, 56-41. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Warriors.

Alcoa took down Fulton 30-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Christian Academy of Knoxville's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Charlie High threw for 336 and two touchdowns and Davis Howell had 151 yards receiving. On the ground Corey Rathbone chipped in 222 yards. Josh Smith helped Christian Academy of Knoxville's passing attack out by catching six balls for 102 yards.

Rusty Bradley's team's High and Howell have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. High has thrown for 3174 yards this season, while Howell, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 86 catches for 1244 yards. Thomas Janow from Stone Memorial leads the league in rushing with 1070 yards.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Christian Academy of Knoxville takes on second place Alcoa. The Warriors beat the Wolverines last week, while the Tornadoes bested the Falcons.

Two of the top units in AA District 4 will face off this week when Christian Academy of Knoxville takes on Alcoa. The Warriors' offense has recorded 448 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while Gary Rankin's team has permitted only 75 on the year.

Christian Academy of Knoxville led the league in scoring this week after putting up 56 points on LaVergne. High ran for 11 yards in the win.
