Flag Football Game Preview: Legend Titans vs. Chaparral Wolverines

The Legend Titans will take on the Chaparral Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Legend is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They blew past Denver South 32-6. The victory was nothing new for the Titans as they're now sitting on ten straight.

One reason for the win was Legend's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Janeen Norton refused to say out of the backfield, picking up two sacks all by herself.

Meanwhile, Chaparral faced Arvada West in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Wolverines' defense stepped up to hand the Wildcats a 20-0 shutout.

Chaparral's win came from a few key players Legend will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Zoey Fink, who threw for 119 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 31 yards. Chaparral's leading receiver Salem Sherman was Fink's top target yet again, picking up 42 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Chaparral didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off six passes before the game was over. Sydney Matthews led the group effort, picking up three of those interceptions all by herself. Chloe Petrillo has been hot, having also posted six or more total tackles the last six times she's played.

Legend's record now sits at 16-1. As for Chaparral, their record is now 14-3.

Legend strolled past Chaparral in their previous meeting on October 6th by a score of 19-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
