Softball Recap: South Fork Now 10-3 over Last 13 Games

With a playoff win on the line, South Fork rose to the challenge on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Hercules Titans as they made off with a 20-3 victory. Considering the Cubs have won 13 games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Mackenzie Coleman was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with five RBI and three runs. Calleigh Smith was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

South Fork always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April.

South Fork has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Hercules, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-10-1.

Coming up, South Fork will take on Miramonte at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Cubs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Matadors have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. Hercules does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
