Basketball Game Preview: Boone County Rebels vs. Simon Kenton Pioneers

Boone County hasn't had much luck against Simon Kenton recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Boone County Rebels will take on the Simon Kenton Pioneers at 7:30 p.m.

Boone County is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Friday. They took a 62-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Holmes. That's two games in a row now that the Rebels have lost by exactly eight points.

Meanwhile, Simon Kenton came tearing into Monday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Wildcats 70-35. The Pioneers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Boone County better focus on containing Jay Bilton and Jordan Bach as the pair were huge in Simon Kenton's win. Bilton went 8 of 11 en route to 18 points and three steals, while Bach went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc on his way to 20 points. Bilton is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last 14 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Braydon Polly, who posted five points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Boone County's loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Simon Kenton, their victory bumped their record up to 18-6.

Boone County came up short against Simon Kenton in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 52-39. Can Boone County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
