Basketball Recap: Fayetteville Comes Up Short

Fayetteville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 84-42 loss at the hands of the Marshall County Tigers. Fayetteville was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 60-17.

Marshall County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Xavier Mosley out in front who went 6 for 8 on his way to 17 points. The dominant performance gave Mosley a new career-high in points. Jemeelan Johnson was another key player, going 5 for 7 on his way to 13 points.

Fayetteville's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Marshall County, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Fayetteville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-28 defeat against Madison Academy on the 16th. Marshall County has also already played their next matchup, a 69-58 loss against Hickman County on the 16th.
