Basketball Game Preview: Bellaire Eagles vs. Central Lake Trojans

The Bellaire Eagles will be taking part in a tournament against the Central Lake Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bellaire will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

If Bellaire beats Central Lake with 54 points on Wednesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Bellaire enjoyed a cozy 54-36 win over Onaway on Friday. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 264th, while the Cardinals are ranked 663rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Central Lake didn't have too much trouble with Forest Area on Monday as they won 56-39. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Bellaire pushed their record up to 18-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.3 points over those games. As for Central Lake, their victory bumped their record up to 8-15.
