Softball Recap: Marsing Comes Up Short

After soaring to 12 runs the game before, Marsing was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They fell 7-2 to the Parma Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-1 two weeks ago.

Brooklyn Roadenbaugh spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and six unearned) runs on three hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Marsing saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Callison, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Marsing has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for Parma, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marsing will take on Vision at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Vision has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 20.83 runs per game on average), something Marsing will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Parma, they will square off against Nampa Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 11 runs per game this season.
