North Side is 9-1 against Polytechnic since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The North Side Steers will look to defend their home pitch against the Polytechnic Parrots at 7:45 p.m.

North Side is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to five goals last Tuesday, they were much more limited against Paschal on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Steers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 536th, while the Panthers are ranked 184th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Polytechnic, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They never let Wyatt onto the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Tuesday. The Parrots have beaten the Chaparrals the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Chaparrals has come to flipping the script.

North Side has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Polytechnic, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-9.

North Side came out on top in a nail-biter against Polytechnic in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Does North Side have another victory up their sleeve, or will Polytechnic turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
