Softball Recap: Wheaton-Warrenville South Takes a Loss

Wheaton-Warrenville South has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 2.95 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Wednesday. They came up short against the Glenbard North Panthers, falling 12-3. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 4-0.

Alison Hubsky was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

Wheaton-Warrenville South's defeat dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Glenbard North, their record now sits at 13-4.

Wheaton-Warrenville South and Glenbard North should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Tigers (ranked 32nd) will meet Downers Grove North (ranked 99th) at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Wheaton-Warrenville South 3, the Trojans 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Glenbard North will challenge Waubonsie Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (23 vs. 344).
