Sandy Creek proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 21) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They pulled ahead with an 8-7 photo finish over the Mt. Markham Mustangs. This was payback for the Comets, who suffered a 9-6 loss the last time these two teams met.

Sandy Creek got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Hudson Hunt out in front who rushed for 105 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries. Those 105 rushing yards gave Hunt a new career-high. Adam Trudell was another key rusher, rushing for 121 yards while picking up 7.6 yards per carry.

Sandy Creek's record now sits at 3-1. As for Mt. Markham, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Sandy Creek has already played their next contest, a 53-20 defeat against Lowville on the 3rd. As for Mt. Markham, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-7 loss against Herkimer on the 4th.
