Softball Recap: Eagle Point Victorious

Eagle Point lost to Del Norte back in March of 2017, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. Eagle Point was the clear victor by an 11-4 margin over Del Norte.

Sarah Estes and Kady Ledbetter did most of the damage at the plate: Estes scored four runs while going 3-for-4, while Ledbetter went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The dominant performance also gave Estes a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Allison Martin, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Eagle Point kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Eagle Point's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Del Norte, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Coincidentally, Eagle Point and Del Norte will both be playing La Salle the next time they take the field. Eagle Point will head out to face La Salle at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, while Del Norte will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
