Royal took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Naches Valley, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Knights narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Rangers 5-3. This was a revenge game for the Knights: when they faced off against the Rangers last Friday, they had to take a 13-6 loss.

The victory made it two in a row for Royal and bumps their season record up to 16-9. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for Naches Valley, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 8-1-1 and their overall record down to 17-8-1.

Royal does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Naches Valley, they will be playing at home against Colville at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Rangers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Crimson Hawks have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
