Volleyball Game Preview: Hoover Buccaneers vs. Faith Academy Rams

The Hoover Buccaneers will face off against the Faith Academy Rams at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Hoover has played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Wednesday, Hoover didn't have quite enough to beat Auburn and fell 3-2.

Hoover took Auburn into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-14, 20-25, 15-25, 15-10.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Cheyenne Conner, who had 24 digs and three assists. She has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last five times she's played. Addison Jenkins was another key player, getting 28 assists and four digs.

Meanwhile, Faith Academy made easy work of Lawrence County on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

One reason for the win was Faith Academy's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-13, 25-12.

Hoover has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-20 record this season. As for Faith Academy, their win bumped their record up to 25-10.
