Baseball Recap: West Comes Up Short

West extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping their season record down to 3-14-3 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Piper Pirates. The Chargers were not able to make up for their loss to the Pirates from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

As for Piper, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-9. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games.

For Piper's part, Myles Ross was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs Ross has posted since back in April.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Piper beat West by a score of 13-0 later that day.
