Baseball Recap: North Comes Up Short

North had lost 17 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 1-15 to make it 18. They lost 31-0 to the Alhambra Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 17-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

As for Alhambra, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.1 runs over those games.

For Alhambra's part, the team relied heavily on Christopher Martinez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and four runs. Those four hits gave Martinez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alan Ledon, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one triple.

Alhambra wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 11-4 defeat against Millennium on the 15th. Hopefully North paid attention to the Lions' contest: the next time they hit the field , they'll take on the Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
