Basketball Recap: Carrollton Comes Up Short

After flying high against Hardin-Central on Thursday, Carrollton came back down to earth. The Trojans took a 70-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Richmond Spartans on Monday. The Trojans lost against the Spartans in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 65-25 score last time.

Nolan Quick produced another solid performance going 11-for-25 on his way to 28 points and six assists for Richmond. The game was Quick's third in a row with at least 25 points. Another player making a difference was Cale Moyer, who posted 13 points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Carrollton's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Richmond, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.

Carrollton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 66-42 defeat against St. Paul Lutheran on the 16th. As for Richmond, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-60 loss against Knob Noster on the 16th.
