Basketball Recap: University Prep Academy Comes Up Short

University Prep Academy has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were outmatched by the Basis Independent Silicon Valley Bobcats and fell 82-53. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 68-60 back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Basis Independent Silicon Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bretton Lam, who went 6-for-7 en route to 14 points along with seven steals and six assists. The dominant performance also gave Lam a new career-high in rebounds (five). Justin Wang was another key player, going 8-for-15 to rack up 21 points and three steals.

University Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Basis Independent Silicon Valley, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-5.

University Prep Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 75-39 victory against Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit on the 13th. As for Basis Independent Silicon Valley, they have also already played their next game, a 71-51 win against More on the 13th.
