Preview: Ramapo Raiders vs. Fair Lawn Cutters

Ramapo has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Fair Lawn Cutters at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday.

On Thursday, Ramapo faced Don Bosco Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Ramapo received a tough blow as they fell 59-45 to Don Bosco Prep. While losing is never fun, Ramapo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while Don Bosco Prep is ranked first).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Wyatt Eglinton manner, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Goldman, who scored 11 points.

Meanwhile, Fair Lawn came tearing into Tuesday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against Lakeland Regional as Fair Lawn made off with a 67-45 victory. Fair Lawn has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 22 points or more this season.

Ramapo's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Fair Lawn, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Ramapo against Fair Lawn in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 73-39 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ramapo since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
