Baseball Recap: Wilson Sets Scoring Season-High Against Sunset

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wilson). They blew past the Sunset Bison 10-1 on Friday. The Wildcats not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 23, 2024.

Jesus Fermines spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Daniel Gonzalez was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was David Rosas, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Wilson's victory bumped their record up to 3-5-1. As for Sunset, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-6.

Coincidentally, Wilson and Sunset will both be playing Bowie the next time they take the field. Sunset will head out to face Bowie at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, while Wilson will head out to face them at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
