Basketball Recap: Timothy Christian Falls Despite Big Games from Dylan Drye and Marc Gamble

Timothy Christian lost against Chicago Hope Academy back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Timothy Christian Trojans took a hard 66-49 fall against Chicago Hope Academy. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 476th, while Chicago Hope Academy are ranked 123rd).

Timothy Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Marc Gamble and Dylan Drye. Gamble went 6 of 12 en route to 20 points and seven rebounds, while Drye went 5 for 8 on his way to 14 points. The matchup was Gamble's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Roland, who posted seven points and seven boards.

Timothy Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. As for Chicago Hope Academy, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-6.

Timothy Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-54 loss against Walther Christian Academy on the 31st. As for Chicago Hope Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 65-46 victory against Marian Central Catholic on the 31st.
