Basketball Game Preview: Sidwell Friends Quakers vs. Saint James Saints

Sidwell Friends has gone a perfect 10-0 against Saint James recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Sidwell Friends Quakers will square off against the Saint James Saints at 5:30 p.m. Sidwell Friends is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.5 points per game this season.

Sidwell Friends is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Potomac School, who was ranked eighth in their home state at the time (Sidwell Friends was ranked ninth). Sidwell Friends walked away with a 50-40 win over Potomac School on Friday. The victory was nothing new for the Quakers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Jalyn Collingwood had a dynamite game for Sidwell Friends, going 7-for-11 en route to 22 points and seven boards. Those 22 points gave Collingwood a new career-high. Harrison Keyser also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Meanwhile, Saint James lost 80-59 to St. Andrew's Episcopal on Friday. The Saints haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Sidwell Friends will have to contain Christian Gladchuk as he made an impact in Saint James' last game. He went 9-for-16 to rack up 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Yates, who posted 21 points.

Sidwell Friends' win bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Saint James, their loss dropped their record down to 7-17.

Everything went Sidwell Friends' way against Saint James in their previous meeting back in January, as Sidwell Friends made off with a 49-23 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sidwell Friends since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
