Baseball Game Preview: Roswell Coyotes vs. Hobbs Eagles

For the second straight game, Roswell will face off against Hobbs. The Coyotes will venture away from home to square off against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Roswell has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with four straight defeats, while Hobbs will come in with three straight wins.

Roswell fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Hobbs on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. Coyotes fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Eagles since Tuesday.

For Hobbs' part, Hendrix Sullivan looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Sullivan has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, John Curtis was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Jayden Hernandez was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one home run and three RBI.

Hobbs lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post two or more home runs.

Hobbs now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Roswell, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.
