Volleyball Game Preview: DeMotte Christian Knights vs. Caston Comets

The DeMotte Christian Knights will challenge the Caston Comets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, DeMotte Christian turned things around against Hammond Academy of Science & Tech on Friday. They put the hurt on the Hawks with a sharp 3-0 victory.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant DeMotte Christian was: they took every set by at least 12 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-12, 25-8.

Meanwhile, Caston beat Lakeland Christian Academy 3-1 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Comets in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won eight in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 24-26, 27-25, 25-14.

DeMotte Christian better focus on containing Hadlie Coffing and Natalie Warner as the pair were huge in Caston's win. Coffing had 13 digs, while Warner had 11 kills, two blocks, and two aces. That's the most blocks Warner has posted over her last eight matchups. Berry Genevieve also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Caston was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. They are 3-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

Caston's victory bumped their record up to 7-23. As for DeMotte Christian, their win bumped their record up to 10-19.

DeMotte Christian beat Caston 2-0 in their previous meeting back in August. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Comets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
