Recap: Winnfield Tigers vs. Lakeview Gators
It was a good run, but the Winnfield Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. The match between Winnfield and Lakeview wasn't particularly close, with Winnfield falling 71-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Winnfield lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cl Davis, who scored 19 points along with three steals. Davis hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Jaylon Jackson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Winnfield's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7. As for Lakeview, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.
Winnfield will head out on the road to face off against Red River at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Red River's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight games. As for Lakeview, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Jonesboro-Hodge at 7:30 p.m.
