With a playoff win on the line, Holy Name rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Hawken Hawks 2-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Green Wave, who have now won five contests in a row.

Harrison Frank spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up seven Ks. Holy Name is 4-1 when Frank allows two or fewer earned runs, but 10-12 otherwise.

Holy Name pushed their record up to 14-13 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Hawken, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 19-6 record.

Looking ahead, Holy Name will square off against Lake Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Green Wave's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Hawken does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
