Volleyball Game Preview: Liberty Bison vs. Paloma Valley Wildcats

Liberty is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Paloma Valley is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Bison will host the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Liberty beat Moreno Valley 3-1. The win continues a trend for the Bison in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won four in a row.

Paloma Valley won the last time they faced Valley View, and Jayden Estrella did his part to make sure it happened again. The Wildcats walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Eagles on Tuesday for which the team can thank Estrella, who had 17 assists and nine digs. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more assists the last three times he's played.

Paloma Valley had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 13-25, 25-13, 25-22, 25-21.

Liberty better focus on containing Isaac Mendoza and Jhomar Yanga as the pair were huge in Paloma Valley's win. Mendoza had ten digs and four assists, while Yanga had 14 digs and six kills. That's the most assists Mendoza has posted over his last eight games.

Liberty's win bumped their record up to 22-9. As for Paloma Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season.
