Soccer Recap: Veritas Academy Comes Up Short

Veritas Academy came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the New Covenant Christian Flames, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Veritas Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 508th, while New Covenant Christian are ranked 222nd).

Veritas Academy has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for New Covenant Christian, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-4-1.

Looking ahead, Veritas Academy will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against Lititz Christian at 4:00 p.m. As for New Covenant Christian, they will venture away from home to square off against Ephrata Mennonite at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
