Baseball Recap: Hobart Extends Winning Streak to Three

Hobart never let their opponents score on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Merrillville Pirates as they made off with an 11-0 win. The Brickies' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Gabe Gutierrez looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Donio Pimentel was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Brandon Stafford was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Hobart always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Merrillville only posted an OBP of .250.

Hobart's win bumped their record up to 3-0.

Hobart and Merrillville will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Brickies will square off against rival Munster at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Merrillville is set to challenge their familiar foe Chesterton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
