Basketball Game Preview: East Jackson Eagles vs. Franklin County Lions

The East Jackson Eagles will square off against the Franklin County Lions at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Tuesday, East Jackson came up short against Prince Avenue Christian and fell 70-63. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (59), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Franklin County entered their tilt with Hart County on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 79-67 victory over the Bulldogs. That's two games straight that the Lions have won by exactly 12 points.

East Jackson has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Franklin County, their win bumped their record up to 8-10.

East Jackson was dealt a bruising 68-32 defeat at the hands of Franklin County when the teams last played back in February of 2022. Can East Jackson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
