Basketball Game Preview: Fannindel Falcons vs. Miller Grove Hornets

Fannindel hasn't had much luck against Miller Grove recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Fannindel Falcons will challenge the Miller Grove Hornets at 6:00 p.m. Miller Grove took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Fannindel, who comes in off a win.

Fannindel is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Non Varsity Opponent to the tune of 80-20 on Saturday. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 43 points or more this season.

Kor'Ziareona Aubrey was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 44 points and ten steals. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Fannindel's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tamya Allen, who posted ten points and four steals.

Fannindel smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, Miller Grove was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 42-38 to Boles. While losing is never fun, Miller Grove can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1443rd, while Boles is ranked 702nd).

Miller Grove has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season. As for Fannindel, they moved to 7-13 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Things could have been worse for Fannindel, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-35 loss to Miller Grove in their previous matchup back in February. Can Fannindel avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
