Basketball Game Preview: Plymouth South Panthers vs. Bourne Canalmen

Plymouth South is 0-3 against Bourne since February of 2022 but things could change on Saturday. The Plymouth South Panthers will head out to face off against the Bourne Canalmen at 1:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Bourne will be up against a hot Plymouth South squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Plymouth South enjoyed a cozy 60-45 victory over Scituate on Thursday. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Sailors are ranked 199th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Bourne didn't have quite enough to beat Somerset Berkley Regional on Friday and fell 81-79. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (69), the Canalmen still had to take the loss.

Plymouth South's win bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Bourne, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-2.

Things could have been worse for Plymouth South, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 72-53 loss to Bourne in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Plymouth South avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
