Soccer Recap: Fruita Monument Starts Season with Draw at Home

Fruita Monument was not able to secure the win in their season-opener on Thursday. They and the Eagle Valley Devils finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 draw. The outcome might've been different if Kevin Fletcher hadn't been hit with a yellow card, which no doubt limited his ability to make aggressive plays down the stretch.

Eagle Valley's draw gives them a new season record of 1-1-1.

Coming up, Fruita Monument will take on Durango at 12:00 p.m. on September 6. As for Eagle Valley, they will head out to challenge Montezuma-Cortez at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
