Basketball Game Preview: Unity Christian Academy Warriors vs. Mount Calvary Christian Academy Warriors

For the first time this season, Unity Christian Academy will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out on the road to square off against Mount Calvary Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Unity Christian Academy has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with five straight losses, while Mount Calvary Christian Academy will come in with three straight wins.

On Monday, Unity Christian Academy was beaten by New Life Academy 65-27.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Jake Whitehurst, who posted 12 points. That was a full 44.4% of Unity Christian Academy's points, marking the third time in a row Whitehurst has earned more than a third of the team's points. Talen Swanner was another key player, putting up six points.

While Mount Calvary Christian Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They snuck past Varsity Opponent with a 63-59 victory on Monday.

Unity Christian Academy better keep an eye on Jentzen Wade. He was instrumental in Mount Calvary Christian Academy's win, dropping a double-double with 30 points and 14 boards. Those 30 points gave Wade a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Howell, who put up 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Mount Calvary Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Unity Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Unity Christian Academy came up short against Mount Calvary Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in January, falling 47-37. Can Unity Christian Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
