Baseball Recap: Sparta Takes a Loss

Sparta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the La Crosse Central Riverhawks. If the Spartans were looking for revenge after losing 5-1 to the Riverhawks when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Sparta's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for La Crosse Central, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-12.

Coming up, Sparta is taking a road trip to challenge Black River Falls at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. La Crosse Central will be paying especially close attention to the Spartans' game: after the Spartans face off against the Tigers, they'll take on La Crosse Central again at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
