Basketball Recap: Hope Comes Up Short

On Friday, the Hope Blue Wave came up short against the Central Falls Warriors and fell 76-66.

Jamilson De Pina Almeida continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Central Falls, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 21 boards. With that strong performance, De Pina Almeida is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Sire Hazard, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten assists.

Hope now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Central Falls, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-6.

The future could be bright for both Hope and Central Falls: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Hope will try to hand Paul Cuffee their fourth-straight loss when the two meet at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Central Falls will try to hand Blackstone Valley Prep their seventh-straight defeat when the two meet at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
