Connor Nettles leads Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond to victory over Cumberland

Recap: Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Knights vs. Cumberland Pirates

Even though the Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Knights have not done well against the Cumberland Pirates recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond walked away with a 56-47 victory over Cumberland. The victory was nothing new for Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond as they're now sitting on three straight.

Connor Nettles was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Hilligoss, who scored 16 points along with two steals.

When it comes to explaining why Cumberland lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kelby Bierman. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. Zack Harmon was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-16. As for Cumberland, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-16.

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond's road trip will continue as they head out to face Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Hopefully Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday. As for Cumberland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Argenta-Oreana at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
