New Waverly took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Anderson-Shiro, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bulldogs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Fighting Owls on Thursday, sneaking past 8-7. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Fighting Owls on Tuesday, they had to take a 12-2 loss.

New Waverly is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Anderson-Shiro, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 15-8.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. New Waverly will face off against rival Trinity at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Anderson-Shiro is set to take on their familiar foe Onalaska at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
