Football Recap: Landon Hohler Key Part of Team Effort in Tigers Win

There's no place like home for Huron, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 35-21 victory over the Port Clinton Redskins on Friday. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Redskins recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Huron's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Landon Hohler, who threw for 356 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80.8% of his passes, and also punched in one rushing score. Those 356 passing yards gave Hohler a new career-high. A healthy portion of Hohler's aerial production (92 yards to be exact) went to Caleb Staley, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Huron didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Hohler and Staley. Staley got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win got Huron back to even at 3-3. As for Port Clinton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Huron is set to face off against their familiar foe Bellevue at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Port Clinton will take on rival Vermilion at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
