Basketball Game Preview: Willis Wildkats vs. Horn Jaguars

The Willis Wildkats will square off against the Horn Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Willis is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.6 points per game this season.

Willis is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Cypress Springs by a score of 55-47. The win was all the more spectacular given the Wildkats' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while the Panthers are ranked 78th).

Willis' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was SJ Young, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 17 rebounds. That's the most boards Young has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Day, who put up ten points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Horn waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 47-42 W against the Raiders.

Willis has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a massive bump to their 22-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points over those games. Horn's win bumped their record up to 21-14.
